Of course the Residential office would talk you out of moving in late in emails to protect their hours. Called the super and the service center and it turned out they just don't reply to emails much however arriving after 4pm, even 5-6pm, is fine. I landed at 14:35, got off board at 14:50, ran to the customs and managed to pass through it in 5-10 mins, however stuck at the baggage claim for 2 hours. Update for anyone who will be running late moving in to Columbia Residential: My flight arrives at JFK at 14:25 (the earliest I could find) on a Friday however Columbia Residential said if I don’t arrive by 4PM I’ll have to move in the next Monday instead, which means I’ll have to find other places to crash for 3 nights… emailed the superintendents to check flexibility but no response at all.
